Bowen & Watson, Inc. Receives Top Honors for Outstanding Safety Record and Leadership

– 07.01.2021

Bowen & Watson, Inc., has been recognized as 1 of 18 contractor firms in the most prestigious category of Zero Incidence Rate by Associated General Contractors of Georgia (AGC Georgia) and Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).

The safety awards program provides an opportunity for general and specialty contractors to compare their safety records against national averages and with contractors of similar size and who perform similar types of construction.

“We are thrilled to recognize these firms for their unwavering commitment to fostering a culture focused on safety”, says AGC Georgia CEO Mike Dunham.

The firm also received the AGC Georgia Award for No Lost Time Accidents for 2020 commemorating the firm’s outstanding safety record.

“It is because of the efforts of every team member that we are able to maintain a high safety standard on our jobsites”, says Bowen & Watson Safety Coordinator, Stacy Allen.

In addition to the two awards presented to the firm, 13 of Bowen & Watson’s supervisors were awarded the Ron Amerson Supervisor’s Safety Award from the Associated General Contractors of Georgia (AGC Georgia). The Ron Amerson Supervisors’ Safety Awards program is designed to recognize AGC of America members’ supervisors for outstanding contributions to safety on their job sites. The measurement criterion is based on safety incidence rates for individual supervisors in conjunction with actual man-hours directly supervised by each employee. Only those supervisors who showed a commitment to outstanding safety are eligible.

Welcome to the Family. Bowen & Watson Announces New Shareholder
– 01.25.2021

Bowen & Watson Inc., announces a new minority shareholder to its ownership effective January 1, 2021. Dustin DuncanVice President of Construction has signed an agreement to purchase 5% of the shares of the company, the first non-family shareholder since the company was founded in 1956 by Harold Watson and Troy Bowen.

Dustin will join current ownership Drew Watson, President, Keith Watson, Chairman and Kevin Watson, CEO in leading Bowen & Watson’s business decisions.

“Dustin has been instrumental over the past two years in implementing new controls and processes into our operations and project management.  He brings years of experience from two other well respected construction firms and has established a more direct line of communication for our project managers and superintendents to management,” said Drew Watson, President.

“We did not want to lose our family- oriented and operated culture, but needed more cohesion in our operations, so we sought help from outside the company a few years ago after 5 years of strategic planning and peer group input.  The results of adding Dustin to our executive team have already paid off.  He listened to our employees, clients, and architects about areas where improvement could be made and has made the changes necessary to ensure years of successful operations.  I am very proud of what he has accomplished in such a short time,” Watson said.

“I’m honored to join the Bowen & Watson family as a shareholder. I am excited to continue to build our company by developing talent and expanding our footprint, as we maintain the family atmosphere and culture that has carried our organization to success for 65 years,” says Duncan.

This expansion is in support of its strategic plan and reflects Bowen & Watson’s commitment to recognizing the contributions of each professional and engaging them on many levels to help shape the future course of the firm, which continues on a steady path of growth and expansion. Over the past several years, Bowen & Watson has expanded our market reach and added new clients in Georgia and South Carolina.

“We are thrilled to see the fruits of our strategic planning continue to unfold,” Watson said.

Congratulations to our new shareholder. We are excited about our future!

Bowen & Watson Construction Announces Rebranding – 06.22.2020

Client-Centric Family Roots Founded in 1956, Bowen & Watson has continually evolved our family-owned business by adapting to our environment and the needs of our clients.  As our business has advanced to meet our clients’ needs, we knew our brand identity also needed to evolve with a new look and feel. Why Rebrand? The Bowen & Watson brand is built on a 64-year legacy, and today, two generations of our family-owned firm manage the day-to-day operations.   We wanted a fresh look which symbolized consideration of our past as well as anticipation of our future.  A New Logo That Honors Its Past Perhaps the most noticeable change is the brand mark, a modern interpretation of our firm’s vintage “BW” mark from the 1980s. It pays homage to our past, and depicts our vision for the future. The logo’s evolution reflects improvements to brand challenges faced with earlier renditions. The new branding is more flexible, allows for use of separate elements of the brand and better suits our marketing needs. Labor of Love The rebranding process has been an insightful journey to undertake.  One of the things that make the rebrand of Bowen & Watson particularly special is that it was executed entirely in-house. A small group of the firm’s business leaders and marketers worked together to develop the new identity. What It Means to Our Clients The bottom line is, the new Bowen & Watson brand represents much more than a new logo.  Our brand is a visual representation of our firm as the Trusted Partner our clients already know. We hope you will find our new brand identity to be more dynamic and visually appealing. What changes will you see? You’ll notice significant changes to our brand identity across all our content. To ensure a consistent brand identity, all our forms of communicating our brand message will be updated to align with our new brand vision. “We are not changing who we are,” said Drew Watson, Bowen & Watson’s President. “We’re amplifying what we do best today and what we will do even better tomorrow.” We hope you like this new look and feel for Bowen & Watson!
